Join Cory Leick, artist and illustrator, for an 8-week workshop on various drawing and painting techniques. Registration required.
Artist and illustrator Cory Leick will lead an 8-week workshop focused on enhancing your drawing skills through imagination and observation. Participants will then paint the drawings in watercolor and employ collage and mixed media techniques in a collaborative mural. The finished art will be displayed at a final art show on March 14 at the Schweitzer Brentwood Branch. Materials will be provided, and all levels of experience are welcomed. Provided in partnership with the Advancing Creative Aging Through State Library Leadership Initiative. Registration for the entire 8-week workshop is required. Located on the corner of Brentwood Boulevard and Seminole Street, one block east of the intersection of Glenstone Avenue and Seminole Street, the Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library, renovated in 2016, has served southeast Springfield since 1971. The branch, convenient to such popular shopping centers as the Plaza, Brentwood Center, Battlefield Mall and Primrose Marketplace, is popular with young and old alike.
