"Occupations of the Late 19th to Mid-20th Century in the Ozarks" is the April-May interpretive exhibition in the series Helping to Bring the Humanities to the Public Square, coordinated by Dr. Billie Follensbee of Missouri State University. The exhibit includes objects associated with various occupations held by people at the turn of the century in the Ozarks, from railroad workers to milliners to physicians. The exhibition opening reception will take place during the First Friday Art Walk and feature a presentation by Missouri State University alumni Sarah Dotson and Kevin Frey. Children's activity sheets will be available throughout the exhibition.
The Missouri State University Museum Studies Program, Department of Art and Design, and the Park Central Branch Library, Springfield-Greene County Library System, are sponsoring this program in partnership with the Missouri Humanities Council and with support from the Missouri Humanities Trust Fund.
