The Chronic Disease Self-Management Program is a 6-week, evidence-based class for individuals with chronic health conditions and their caregivers. Led by Amber Allen, field specialist in human development and family science at the University of Missouri Extension, participants create action plans, share experiences and support each other in overcoming self-management challenges. This class covers health issues and self-management strategies for chronic illnesses like arthritis, fibromyalgia, depression, heart disease, diabetes and more.

The Republic Branch Library opened in 1961 as a consolidation of book deposits held at several locations in this western Greene County city. The branch has relocated five times as use of the library continues to grow.
