Join the Library, Dickerson Park Zoo and birders all over the world in participating in the Great Backyard Bird Count! Meet three ambassador birds from Dickerson Park Zoo's education department who will demonstrate avian characteristics in an up-close and hands-on encounter. Then enjoy bird-themed activities and practice bird counting with a bird scavenger hunt in the library. Sponsored by Friends of the Library.

The Republic Branch Library opened in 1961 as a consolidation of book deposits held at several locations in this western Greene County city. The branch has relocated five times as use of the library continues to grow.
