Young chefs and adult caregivers work together to learn how to use herbs and spices.
Cooking helps build confidence, encourages an adventurous palate and teaches many functional life skills. Join us for this cooking series where young chefs work together with their adult caregivers to learn the art of making a meal. Provided in partnership with the University of Missouri Extension Greene County and Springfield Community Gardens. Registration starts September 1; call 417-862-0135.
Kid chefs will explore the use of herbs and spices to add flavor to their dishes.
This project is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State.

This stately Carnegie library opened its doors in 1905, and ever since, the Midtown Carnegie Branch has been serving the information needs of the citizens of Greene County. The Midtown Carnegie Branch has been renovated to make it a cozy neighborhood library, and to restore it to the architectural glory of its earlier years. There are more wooden library tables and comfortable reading chairs. Centrally located at the northwest corner of Central Street and Jefferson Avenue, the Midtown Carnegie Branch is at the heart of the city's Government Plaza.
