Friends of the Library Auditorium (150)A penguin’s obsession with fashion leads to laughs, music and surprises in this playful, family-friendly show.
Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale comes to life with a twist — or an iceberg. The “Emperor” penguin obsesses over his appearance and demands admiration from his subjects. A contest is announced to create the most magnificent outfit, with half the kingdom’s fish as a prize. Two polar bear tailors arrive with a scheme to win, sparking musical mayhem, flying fish, and a penguin parading in his underwear in this hilarious adventure by StoneLion Puppet Theatre. Financial assistance for this project has been provided by the Missouri Arts Council, a state agency.
